LARGE SPACE DESIGN
Large areas can be as difficult to design as small spaces. By following a few simple rules, a sense of intimacy can be achieved but it requires the homeowner to follow a few simple rules that seek to enhance interaction and the proper placement of furniture and accessories.

Create multiple seating areas.
Multiple conversational groupings enchance the perception of smaller, more intimate spaces.
Use large scale furniture and artwork.
The room must have visual weight.
Balance is key; furniture, accessories, and artwork should be in balance and proportion.
Use warm colors on the walls such as golds, reds, and greens.
Carefully group items for maximum effect.
Bring the ceilings down by adding hanging light fixtures.
Use a darker shade of paint on the ceilings or crown molding.
Add medallions or mirrors around your light fixtures.
Avoid accent wall colors.
Hardwood floors add another element of warmth.
A strategic mix of tactile qualities create visual interest.
Carefully choose flooring, upholstery, draperies, furniture, and accessories.
Armoires, buffets, four poster beds, and sectionals easily add bulk to any room.
Texture adds depth.
